About: Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 12k OLPF

Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 12k OLPF has been announced by Blackmagic Design. Although the new camera doesn't go too far off course when compared to the original, Blackmagic has added a new OLPF that dramatically reduces moire, which was a problem with the original 12K, and new Blackmagic RAW processing improvements that improve sharpness and smoothness of the image.

The same 12,288 x 6480 12K Super 35 sensor is used in the new URSA Mini Pro 12K, and it is said to have 14 stops of dynamic range. Blackmagic RAW is included with the new color science and 80 megapixels per frame sensor. With 80 megapixels per frame in 12K, you can shoot at 60 frames per second. 8K and 4K images are produced by oversampling 12K images.

According to what I know, this was a brand-new sensor that was developed in-house by Blackmagic. The sensor technology for the initial URSA Mini Pro 12K underwent a radical shift from Blackmagic. For a lot of this new technology that Blackmagic is using, it appears that they hold patents.
