The DN-500 uses a hard disk in a removable enclosure that has a USB connector on the back (cable included). With the DN-500, it is now even easier to transfer your digital video to your computer. The unit ships with one enclosure with a 250 GB hard drive and one empty enclosure.

Audio comes in the form of balanced stereo XLR inputs/outputs, unbalanced RCA input/outputs and a built-in audio level monitor with an earphone level dial.

With the included CD software, you can convert to many other formats: Quicktime, AVI Type 1 and 2, Sony ES-3 Canopus AVI Type 1 and 2, Sony DSR DU-1 DV (.dvd), Matrix RT2500 DV, Avid OMF DV, Raw DV (.dv, .dif, .dvsd). The CD Software allows you to batch the file conversion (see below).
